Interested in canning your own produce but nervous about taking the leap? Join Indy Food Swappers, Slow Food Indy, and Ivy Tech Community College for a beginner canning class on Sunday, September 30, 2012, from 2:00 – 5:00pm.

Participants will get an overview of food preservation techniques, and work in small groups for a hands-on canning experience. The cost of the class is $12.50, and includes all produce and supplies. The class will take place in one of the kitchens at the brand new Ivy Tech culinary center at 2820 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. The facility is amazing, and it’s a perfect space for this kind of group project.
